(b)QMS is based off of sets of 4. It is a four channel piece, with one of four notes assigned to each channel. There are four pulses per second, and each note appears in four different octaves. The piece lasts exactly four minutes.

(b)QMS was written on the NeXT Computer using the Score program, and was mixed in ProTools to get the four channel output. (b)QMS stands for (bass) Quadra-Mono-Sonic, meaning four single sounds.
